With the ever-increasing demand for even greater professionalism, both in your chosen career or area of business expertise, and with more institutes and associations looking at, or already implementing, continuing professional development schemes it is vital to keep on top of your training requirements.

Solicitors Regulation Authority
All Falconbury events are Solicitors Regulation Authority accredited (CPD reference CSC/FALI), the number of hours accredited depends of the duration and the number of days of each event. The General Council of the Bar
In order to maintain and enhance the quality of legal services that they offer, barristers need to update and develop specialist areas of knowledge and ensure that their skills are regularly refreshed. The Bar Council introduced the New Practitioners’ Programme on 1 October 1997 for barristers in their first three years of independent practice. This was extended on 1 October 1998 to barristers entering employed practice.
The Bar Council has also introduced a continuing professional development scheme for established practitioners. This was introduced from 1 January 2001 for all barristers who have completed the New Practitioners’ Programme.

Institute of Legal Executives (ILEX)
For all ILEX fellows CPD is compulsory. The CPD year runs from 1 January – 31 December. During each year a Fellow is required to complete a minimum of 8 hours’ CPD. Failure to comply with these CPD requirements is a breach of ILEX regulations.
